After getting annoyed with spammers,I decided to disable the website URL in comment form.Because I usually create theme and most of the time I customize the theme. While this journey of reading,once I read this wordpress codex page http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/comment_form . I have never created plugin in WordPress hence decided to create a plugin called Hide-n-Disable-comment-url-field.zip .It hide and disable URL field in comment form in WordPress.

Description

This plugin will hide and disable the URL field from wordpress default comment form. The plugin also works in Genesis Framework.

Installation

This section describes how to install the plugin and get it working.

1. Upload Hide_n_Disable_comment_url_field.zip from Plugins ‘Add New’ tab through the WordPress Admin dashboard Or unzip the Hide_n_Disable_comment_url_field.zip in wp-content/plugins
2 Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress

    1. I have checked the link given by you. It is working fine and website field is disabled. Clear the web browser cache and retry once again.

    1. Hello Swasthi,

      The plugin only disable the URL field in comment form. After installing the plugin, enable it.
      I have checked the link which you have posted. The comment form is not visible
