The package called unity-control-center is a graphical user interface to configure various aspects of Unity. You can read more about the details on this package from Ubuntu Manpage.
So here we are re-installing the unity-control-center package.
sudo apt-get remove unity-control-center sudo apt autoremove sudo apt-get install unity-control-center
After running above command, problem is solved. Now ‘System Settings’ is opening and working fine.
thank you very much… it worked for me in ubuntu 20.04
Worked for me. Super Thanks !
worked for me as well. it was working fine last week but then I started getting push notifications from a local news channel station. the only thing I installed since last week was an some software called youtube-tar, it was suppose to download videos from youtube, but it did not work correctly, so i removed it. But I still continued to get the very specialized news channel station “pushes”.
I live in baton rouge. The push notifications were from a news station in New Orleans.
I dont even watch N.O. news.
